Notebook: Injuries piling up again
Playing nine straight games without a week off will take its toll on any team. With Auburn set to play its 10th straight game of the season against Tennessee Tech Saturday, the injuries and fatigue are becoming a serious issue.
"All the guys are physically and mentally tired," said AU head coach Tommy Tuberville. "We started cutting down the time of practice a little bit. We're trying to get to the month of November with a little bit left in terms of mental and physical abilities."
Several players missed Tuesday morning's workout with injuries including linebacker Craig Stevens (knee), offensive lineman Ryan Pugh (ankle) and running back Brad Lester (groin).
Stevens won't practice the remainder of the week and won't play against the Golden Eagles Saturday. Tuberville said Pugh will need to return to practice by Wednesday to play while he's more hopeful with Lester.
