Kendrick Pitt, a rising senior running back/defensive back for the Plymouth Vikings is hoping to get some exposure before the 2012 season starts.

Pitt is a two-time NCPreps.com 1A All-State selection at defensive back, plus 1st Team All-Area and All-Conference selection. Last season, the two-way star ran 125 times for 973 yards with 16 touchdowns. On defense, he had 77 tackles and 5 interceptions. In 2011, he had 93 tackles and 5 interceptions.

What are your indivdual goals this year?

"My goal for the 2012 season is to finish my high school career as a state champion because I want a ring more than individual stats. In the pursuit of a state championship, I hope to catch the eyes of some Division I scouts."

What are your thoughts on college?

"I'm very ambitious about continuing my education and playing career at the next level. My favorite team growing up was the East Carolina Pirates."

What are your plans camp-wise?

"I plan to attend some prospect camps this summer at ECU, NC A&T, and NCCU. I am also planning to participate in the Eastern North Carolina Top 50 Combine on June 30th."

What are your strengths on the field?

"I think I'm a great cover corner with a nose for the football. I feel like I am at my best in press coverage. I enjoy competing and defending opposing teams' best player. At 6'2, I don't have blazing speed, but I can close very quickly. I do have great leaping ability on jump balls. I'm pretty aggressive against the run and very good at making open-field tackles."

What things do you need to work on?

"I lack anticipation to gamble and at times I play too aggressive."

Who is your favorite player and why?

"My favorite player is Jarrelle Revis of the New York Jets because of his work ethic. Plue, he is one the best cover corners in the NFL."

Plymouth Head Coach Robert Cody says, "I feel like Kendrick Pitt will be an asset wherever he land at the collegiate level because of the love for the game and his competitive nature."

Plymouth Co-Defensive Coordinator/Secondary Coach Cory Crossen says, "Kendrick has great play-making skills for a Division 1 DB despite his lack of blazing speed. He is at his best in man or zone coverage."
