August 28, 2012 Here are the VTO Sports/NCPreps.com Players of the Week for Week 2. 1A Duran Scruggs of Rosman HS - Scruggs ran for 232 yards with 3 TDs in a 30-27 win over Mountain Heritage. 2A Reggie Frink of South Columbus HS - Frink had 150 all-purpose yards with 2 TDs and had 4 INTs on defense in a 36-20 win over Red Springs. 3A Elijah Hood of Charlotte Catholic HS - Hood ran for 202 yards with 3 TDs in a 41-7 win over Providence. 4A Connor Mitch of Wakefield HS - Mitch completed 21 of 33 passes for 396 yards with 5 TDs in a 49-20 win over Holly Springs. Private John Cook of North Raleigh Christian - Cook passed for 429 yards with 4 TDs and ran for a score in a 42-35 loss to Davidson Day. All Players of the Week will receive an award either by mail through their high school coach or directly if the student-athlete is in the Charlotte Metro area (VTO Sports).
