KANNAPOLIS - The Porter Ridge Pirates defeated the A.L. Brown Wonders 41-14 in front of a huge crowd in Kannapolis Memorial Stadium on Friday night. The Pirates defeated the Wonders for the second straight season; giving former Wonder and current coach Blair Hardin, the upper hand on his alma mater.

After adding a touchdown with 10 seconds left in the second quarter, both teams entered halftime tied 14-14. The second half was a different story, as the Pirates scored 27 points straight.

Jerrick Robbins led the way for the Pirates with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Recent UNC-Charlotte commit, Chris Duffy, added two more touchdowns in another impressive performance.

The Pirates rotated quarterbacks Nick Vagnone and Zach Danielsen, as they combined for three touchdowns.

The Wonders were led by Kalief Phillips with 146 rushing yards on 15 attempts.

The Wonders look to bounce back next week as they host J.M Robinson in their fourth straight home game. The Pirates look to continue their undefeated season as they host Providence Day.

After seeing this game last season, I said the Pirates had a great chance to make a run for the state championship. I'll say it again this year, the Pirates argh for real folks.
