The good: Soliai is a massive, wide-bodied tackle who had a strong finish as a run stuffer, showing he can be an anchor in the middle when he plays with leverage and intensity. On Utah's flexible front line he constantly absorbed double-team blocks whether on the nose or tackle position. He is a major space-eater who frees up other defenders to make plays when he clogs up the middle. At times, he flashes big-play ability when he comes off the ball quickly and plays with sound technique. He can overpower blockers early and be a disruptive force on the inside. The bad: Soliai completed his college career on a sour note when he was suspended for the Utes' bowl game for a violation of team rules. He can be a powerful bull rusher, but he lacks moves, change-of-direction skills and hand technique as a rusher. He can be slow to locate the ball against the run at times, which makes him vulnerable to blocks. He looks totally dominant at times, but needs to show more consistency and better endurance. He seems to have an off-and-on motor, which limits him to play up to his abilities. Outlook: Despite some durability and consistency concerns, he has been a dominant inside defender who has the complete all-around package to be a fine addition in the middle. Clubs like the Chargers, 49ers and Steelers are hoping to land him as a nose tackle in the middle rounds.
