Class of 2019 LB Landen Johnson is a key player for the 2017 Dudley (NC) High Panthers. The Panthers are closing in on another big year as the regular season wraps up. Johnson has helped the Panthers to a 9-1 record after a big 48-6 win over North Forsyth.

Johnson, a stout 6’2 200-pound hitting-machine is one of many college prospects on this talented Panther team.

NCPreps.com reached out to Johnson to see how things were going during his season.

How is your season going?

“My season is going exceptionally well. I am making some good contributions and plays on the field. I’m starting to get some news coverage from HSXtra, Greensboro Sports, and Friday Night Rivalries.”

What are your season stats?

“My 2017 stats are 52 solo tackles, 42 assisted tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, and 3 pass break-ups.”

What are your career stats?

“My career stats are 178 tackles, 22 tackles for loss, 3 INTs, and 5 pass break-ups.”

What are your strengths on the field?

“I have a high football IQ, closing speed, and sideline to sideline speed. I can read offenses and be explosive at the point of attack. My pass coverage, footwork, and leadership on the field are strengths as well.”

What other sports do you play?

“I previously played basketball and ran track. My plan is to run track next year.”

What schools are interested in you?

“Hampton, Princeton, and Harvard. I've visited Charlotte unofficially and I’m in contact with the coaches. I will visit again after football season. I visited Princeton on 10/28. My plans are to visit ECU on 11/11. I will start visiting many schools on my list more aggressively after football season.”

Who is your favorite football player?

“Landon Collins, a safety for the New York Giants. He is a great well-rounded football player.”
