Tournament Director will be from another Region. The gate will not figure into the decision. His job is to follow the bracket and ensure the rules are followed and that sportsmanship & order are maintained. Sounds to me like they are trying to spread the double dips out by an early start. Both Cherryville and Ga are disqualifed from the tournament as the result of the fight that broke out in the bottom of the 3rd inning with Cherryville leading 4-0.
The fight started after 2 runs come across the plate for Cherryville on a base hit by Craft. The Ga catcher threw the ball at the 2nd Cherryville runner that scored with the ball glancing off him and going into the Cherryville dugout. A fight then broke out with that runnner and the Ga catcher. Players came out of both dugouts and joined in. It didn't last long, it was broken up pretty quickly, but the damage had been done.
It was determined that there were 3 players from Cherryville who stayed in the dugout during the fight and no players for Ga who stayed in the dugout. By rule all players who leave the dugout when an altercation erupts have to be ejected. So, neither team had enough players to continue playing. As a Post 100 fan I hate it...but the tournament and legion officials had no choice.

Maybe next year the " officials " can have a 3 A.M. start time. Two more teams out of the way for the Sandlappers. But, rules are rules. Sounds like the Jawja boys were ready to go home.

Yeah, things weren't going well for the Georgia guys...down 4-0 after getting killed yesterday 13-0. I think they were pretty frustrated. Ga started the brawl but the Cherryville players have to refrain from retaliating. That's easy for me to say, but I know it's difficult for 17-19 year old kids to do.

It would take every grain of restraint in my soul if , as I was crossing the plate, the catcher threw the ball at me as I was walking back to the dugout. Especially at nine a.m.

true and if you couldnt and you went at the catcher and somebody like the 3baseman jumped on you it would take alot for me in the on deck circle not to jump on the 3bagger and so on....
