Get to Know the Player
How would you describe yourself as a player on the field? Physically, mentally, etc.
On the field, I am an extremely physical and competitive player. Mentally, I am prepared and focused thanks to all the work I have put in during the week leading up to the game.
And which player do you model your game after or who would best describe you?
Luke Kuechly for his ability and drive to always be on the ball, and Clay Matthews for his physicality.
How has your recruitment gone overall in your eyes?
It was slow at first, but things are definitely starting to pick up.
What offers do you currently hold from schools?
None yet, but I'm working hard to change that and will continue to be optimistic!
Which schools are showing you the most interest?
I've received numerous emails and camp invites from D1 (AA) - D3 schools across the country, but have received the most interest from Harvard, Washington & Lee University, and recently Wingate University.
Have you planned any visits in the future?
This summer I plan to visit both Harvard and Cornell Universities.
Could you describe some of the schools you have been to and your thoughts on them?
During the past couple of months I have visited Bucknell University, Carnegie-Mellon University, Washington & Lee University and Wingate University. I have really enjoyed meeting the coaching staff of these programs and though that they were all great schools.
Football wise, what are you looking for in a school?
A school that will allow me to become the best possible player that I can be, and one that will help me succeed later in life.
What have you been working on during the off season?
I have been working extremely hard on my overall strength and speed. Some of the other things that I have spent a considerable amount of time on include acceleration/deceleration, explosiveness, hip flexibility, balance, foot work, core strength, and hand-eye coordination.
What are your strengths & weakness on the field?
Some of my strengths include being able to lead the team on the field and always having a winning "4th Quarter" type of attitude. One of my weaknesses is that I have pulled the trigger too soon, so to speak, on some plays. I've recognized the need to let the play develop a little further before I respond.
What do you think you could provide on the field to a collage team looking at you?
An athlete with good leadership skills and the ability to do whatever it takes to win games.
Any goals you would like to achieve before you graduate high school?
I would like to maintain my 4.0 GPA (unweighted) and to take back the 3A/4A Northwest Conference title.
How did this past season go in your own opinion for both yourself and for your team?
In my opinion, our season as a team could have been a lot better that what it was due to multiple season-ending injuries. However, I actually believe this experience made me (and my team) better because we had to learn how to take adversity head on. This past season also help me develop and grow more than I have in any other season.
