2021 OL Baker has Impressive Camp in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE (NC) - Over 100 football prospects participated in the VTO Sports Elite 100 Camp at John Daskal Field on the campus of Reid Ross Classical School.

One of the top performers in the camp came from Hopewell (VA) High in offensive lineman Landen Baker. The class of 2021 prospect stands 6-foot-2 and 330 pounds and is on some schools' recruiting radars.

NCPreps.com spoke with Baker after his OL MVP performance at the camp to get the latest on his recruitment.

What were your thoughts on the VTO Sports Elite 100?

BAKER: “I thought it was nice because I got to see different people, different competition, and new faces.”

What's your recruiting looking like?

BAKER: "My recruiting is looking great."

What schools are showing interest in you?

BAKER: “I have 6 offers and I’m going to visit St. Andrews Friday. My offers are from West Virginia State, Virginia State, Virginia Union, Greensboro, Hampden-Sydney, and Averett.”

What are your strengths on the football field?

BAKER: “I’m good leader and I’m very vocal.”

Since there is no football in Virginia this fall, what have you been doing to improve your game?

BAKER: “I’ve been working out 4 or 5 times a week by lifting a lot, running when I can trying to get in shape and be as fit as possible when the season comes.”

What’s your outlook for your team at Hopewell?

BAKER: “I feel like we can win another state championship this year.”
