3A CHAMPIONSHIP at Chapel Hill
South Point 27 – NE Guilford 10
NOTES: Defensive MVP Brandon Reid, Offensive MVP Jamari Crawford, and game MVP Javar Williams paved the way for the South Point Red Raiders to claim the Class 3A NCHSAA State Football Championship over Northeast Guilford 27-10 at Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill.
South Points Defense shut down Northeast's running game early and often to set the tone for the first half. Two touchdowns by Jamari Crawford one a 40 yard run with 4:50 left in the first quarter and a 74 yard reception from Javar Williams with 9:38 left in the second quarter to propel South Point into a 14-0 led which held until halftime.
Northeast mounted a drive via the passing game that ended at the 1 yard line with the Red Raider Defense holding tough very late in the half.
Javar Williams added a touchdown on a six yard run with 9:24 left in the 3rd quarter to increase their lead to 21-0.
Ryan Powell kicked a 42 yard FG for Northeast Guilford with 7:47 left in the 3rd quarter to make the score 21-3.
Still in the 3rd quarter with 1:32 left QB Javar Williams scored on a 1 yard run on a 5 play drive covering 44 yards. The extra point was block and South Points lead now was 27-3.
Northeast Guilford's Nathan Cockman complete a halfback pass to Brad Jones from nine yards out with only 46 seconds left in the game to make the score 27-10. Northeast Guilford successfully kicked an onside kick but couldn't move the ball as the game ended and bringing the championship to the Red Raiders.

Jamari Crawford carried 3 times for 42 yards and caught a 74 yard TD pass.

Andrew Rinehart punted 5 times for an avg. of 40.8 yards.
Brandon Reid had 16 tackles, nine solo and seven assisted. Three of his tackles resulted in a loss.

3AA CHAMPIONSHIP at Chapel Hill
Crest 40 – Eastern Randolph 0
NOTES: Crest playing in their fourth NCHSAA state football championship game in the last 10 years used special teams, and a smash mouth defense that caused 7 turnovers and a offense that scored on the ground and through the air to beat Eastern Randolph 40-0 for the 3AA state championship.
Eastern Randolph received the opening kickoff and after collecting a first down QB Scott Riddles pass was intercepted by Chris Williamson and returned nine yards to start Crest off on their first scoring drive. Eight plays and 43 yards later Brandon Spikes ran in from the 2 yard line. The extra point was wide left and Crest led 6-0 with 5:41 left in first quarter.
Crest's Defense held and Eastern Randolph went 3 and out after the kickoff. After a 46 yard punt Crest took over on their 37 yard line. On the running of Martray Littlejohn Crest put together a 9 play 63 yard drive as Martray Littlejohn scored on a five yard run with 00:09 sec. left in the first quarter. After a successful two point conversion Crest upped its lead to 14-0.
The Chargers Defense stopped Eastern Randolph on their next possession taking over on the Crest 33 yard line after an ERHS punt. It only took one play for Crest to pad their lead to 21-0 as Maurice Gullatte hit Jermaine Strong for a 67 yard touchdown pass. Jermaine made an electrifying run after the catch.
Following the kickoff Eastern Randolph quick kicked on 3rd down and 15 yards to go. ERHS finally held the high powered offense of Crest but on the punt return ERHS's Lassister fumbled and it was recovered by Crests Jeffery Thompson at the ERHS 13 yard line.
It took Crest 3 plays to increase their lead to 28-0 on a pass from Gullatte to Omar Washington from 9 yards out. ERHS took the kickoff and started a drive from their own 19 yard line. ERHS ran the hook and lateral pass play but fumbled again and it was recovered by Crest's Chris Williamson at the ERHS 30 yard line.
Crest scored on a touchdown pass from Gullatte to Gene Proctor from 26 yards out to finish the 1st half scoring and leading ERHS 34-0 after Crest missed the extra point.
The second half saw Crest grind out yards on the ground with Martray Littlejohn carrying the load. Two Erik Lemmons FGs of 30 and 24 yards helped Crest seal the deal.
Martray Littlejohn the offensive player of the game for the 3AA champion Crest Chargers broke the single season rushing record in the 4th quarter. Chris Williamson was voted Defensive player of the game and the MVP honors went to QB Maurice Gullatte.
