Adkins Named 2023 NCPreps.com Coach of the Year

NCPreps.com is pleased to announce the JK Adkins from Mount Airy High School has been named as the 2023 NCPreps.com Coach of the Year.

Adkins, who just finished his sixth season at Mount Airy has a record of 68-10. He led his team to back-to-back NCHSAA 1A state titles.

The Granite Bears finished 16-0 this season and ended with a 21-3 victory over Tarboro in the NCHSAA 1A title game.

"Coach JK Adkins has done an outstanding job as the coach of the Mount Airy Granite Bears. His 2023 Bear team was a very impressive group and to go back-to-back to win titles against one of the best football programs in the state of North Carolina in Tarboro is quite a feat," NCPreps.com Publisher Deana King said.
