Askew headed to Navy
Stephan "Deuce" Askew II from Mallard Creek High has decided to attend the U.S. Naval Academy. Askew, a 6'0 220 pound outside linebacker was a key member of the Mavericks' 2013 NCHSAA State 4A Championship team.
He completed an outstanding 2013 season with several honors. He was selected on the 2013 NC Shrine Bowl team.

Askew finished with 52 career sacks in which is a school record and an unconfirmed state record.
