KINGS MOUNTAIN - Playing their first "home away from home" game in the 1st round of the NCHSAA 3A State playoffs Friday night, the Burns Bulldogs defeated the Forestview Jaguars 28-6 at Kings Mountain's John Gamble Stadium.
The theme of the night was defense for Coach Matt Beam's Burns squad. Junior QB Chris Montgomery accounted for all four of his teams scores, two passing and two on the ground. A 50 yard connection with Jaylin Hill and a 66 yard bomb to Gilbert Brooks accounted for the touchdown throws in the first half. Runs of 25 and three yards made up Montgomery's ground scores.
