With over 115 prospects battling in the rain and cold conditions, VTO Sports Elite 100 was another successful event in my eyes. I have been to several VTO Sports combines and they always provide great instruction and techniques to the campers. Although, most will not come away with a "top honor" award, the goal of these combines are to make the student-athlete better on and off the field.

NCPreps.com had a chance to speak to several the campers on their VTO Sports Elite 100 experience and any recruiting updates.

Gunner Britton – OL – 2018 - Conway HS (SC)

“It was an awesome camp and it was great to get back on the field and compete. I have one offer from Stetson University and I have interest from a couple of schools.”

Milan Howard – RB – 2018 – Charlotte Catholic HS (NC)

“The VTO Camp was really cool. It was a great experience. The coaches were really cool people and they were asking for the best out of you, especially in the bad weather conditions. I have been getting some recruiting interest, but no offers yet.”

Landon Elliott – LB – 2020 – Charlotte Christian School (NC)

“The VTO camp went very successful for me, but also I thought the camp was one of the most organized events I've been to even through the bad weather. That's definitely a camp I would like to continue throughout high school. I haven't taken a whole lot of visits as of late, but I did go down to Charlotte to watch their spring game on Saturday. I'm still very intrigued with their growing program. As far as camps go, I'm going to attend Duke, Wake Forest, Vanderbilt, East Carolina, and Charlotte's one day camps this summer. Definitely a busy summer, but my goal is to impress as many coaches as I can and to work for a state championship at Charlotte Christian this year.”

Zachary Barco – DE – 2018 – Southeast Raleigh HS (NC)

“The VTO camp was an amazing experience and the coaches taught me a lot of techniques to bring back to my school. I have some recruiting interest sparking up. Army was the last school to contact me.”

Evan Hoff – LB – 2018 – Northern Guilford HS (NC)

“I liked how the camp was run and thought there was some good competition. I have also been talking to Cornell and Davidson for a little bit. I just visited Cornell about a week ago over spring break.”

Grant Thompson – WR – 2018 – Ashe County HS (NC)

“I came in to the VTO camp Sunday knowing I was going to be facing a lot of talented athletes. I told myself I would be humble and do everything to the best of my abilities despite the rain. I enjoyed the rain, it made catching and running routes more challenging, and I love to be challenged. I enjoy learning the little details from coaches, especially the alumni DB from Chapel Hill. These kind of guys really make a difference and are a big inspiration to me every time I speak with them. You don't get many opportunities to be around such talented athletes all at once very many times in your life, so I wanted to make the most of it. It's always a blessing to go out and compete and do what I LOVE to do. (Which is running routes and catching balls.). Currently, I am not speaking with any colleges too serious. Although I have unofficial visited both ETSU and Coastal Carolina. I spoke a lot with many coaches from Coastal, including WR Coach Willy Korn and OL Coach Patrick Covington. I enjoyed speaking with both of these Great Coaches and I felt like I established a small bond between them both.”

Austin Cagle - QB - 2019 - Clayton HS (NC)

"The VTO camp was a great camp with lots of competition. The coaches there were very helpful and great coaches. It will definitely help me as I progress on into the season. It is set up great with a variety of ways to show your skills as a player. You can definitely take things away from the camp to help your game. I was blessed to have won top 5 QB for the second year in a row. I have been to Charlotte and Coastal Carolina on unofficial visits. I have received emails from other schools also about camps and etc., but those are the two schools I have been to."
