Chris' QB Corner: Anthony Hicks (North Forsyth HS)

One of the top junior dual-threat quarterbacks in the state is North Forsyth's Anthony Hicks. Hicks is very athletic and elusive in his 6-5 frame. He has led the Vikings to a 2-2 record thus far in the 2016 season. Hicks is also an impressive hoop star for Vikings.

NCPreps.com's Chris Hemphill had a chance to speak to the dual-sport standout about his season.

What makes you a standout QB?

“The abilities I have with being a 6’5 quarterback allows me to pass and run. This makes me standout the most.”

How is the season going so far for your team?

“As a team, we are looking pretty good this year. We are currently 2-2.”

How has your off-season preparation helped you be successful this season?

“During the off-season, I was in the weight room more than ever.”

How were your grades from this past year? How are you attacking you school studies thus far?

“I had pretty good grades last year, but I’m working harder on my grades this school year.”

What is your dream college?

“My dream college would have to be Clemson University.”

I know you are a two sport star. How does basketball help you on the gridiron?

“Basketball helps me a lot when it comes to improving my footwork. This allows me to be quicker when I get on the field.”

What are your expectations for the rest of the year?

“I hope to win more games than we lose this year and hopefully go deep into the playoffs.”

How much do you bench?

“Right now I bench 165 lbs.”

Any colleges currently recruiting?

“I have some interest from Boston College and NC State.”

Why should colleges recruit you?

“I believe colleges should recruit me because I am easy to coach. I’m 6’5 and I’m able to run and pass as a QB.”

What makes you a leader?

“I’m more of an action leader. My teammate and other athletes follow after me because of my character and by the way I perform on and off the field.”

What is your longest pass this season?

“My longest pass this season was 77-yards.”

What is your best game stat wise thus far?

“My best game statistically would have to be the game against Carver. I threw for 227 yards.”
