PILOT MOUNTAIN - Coach Trent Lowman and the East Surry Cardinals have big expectations this season after an impressive 2018 campaign. The Cardinals advanced to the 1AA state championship game where they lost to perennial powerhouse Tarboro.

The Cardinals return some key players from the 2018 team including athletes Stephen Gosnell (NC State commit) and Jefferson Boaz (UNC commit). Both players played multiple positions in the successful 2018 campaign and are expected to do it again this season as well.

NCPreps.com caught up with Coach Lowman and he had the following to say about the 2019 season.
