Diondre Overton determined to make a name for himself

Greensboro (N.C.) Southeast Guilford wing Diondre Overton is an elite athlete who is poised for a major breakout this summer. His length and explosive leaping ability are the staples of his game, but Overton's all-around game has steadily progressed in recent months.
Overton has teamed up with Kwe Parker and Ty Graves on the Karolina Diamonds, which have gone 7-2 in the first two tournaments of the AAU season, and will travel to the Bobby Hussey/Nike Memorial Day Classic later this month.

NCPreps caught up with Overton at the Josh Level Classic on Friday, where he discussed the next step in his development, and his recruitment.
Overton was remarkably candid about his shortcomings as a prospect, and went into great detail on what he needs to work on this summer.
"I really need to improve my ball-handling skills, everybody has been critiquing me about that", said Overton. "I can perfect my shooting more, and rebounding too. I need to polish up my game."
Overton said that East Carolina and Elon are after him the hardest, and that high-major programs are beginning to take notice. He has yet to receive an offer, as coaches are waiting for him to consistently play at a high level.
When asked about his the schools on his list, Overton responded: "It's going pretty good. I got ECU, UVA, Virginia Tech, NC State, and some other major schools. I'm trying to get some offers, but I have to play harder."
While his recruitment is just beginning to take shape, Overton has an idea of what he's looking for in a college.
"I would love to have a great relationship with the head coach and my teammates," Overton told NCPreps. "I just need a good campus, and a good atmosphere so I can get an education, and graduate."
