This feature will take a look at the games involving the Greater Metro 4A, Central Piedmont 4A, South Piedmont 3A, Central Carolina 1A/2A, and Yadkin Valley 1A/2A Conferences.

In the Central Carolina 1A/2A: North Rowan(1A) (4-3, 1-2) at West Davidson (2A) (2-5; 0-3)

North Rowan is coming off an open date after two conference losses. The Cavaliers look to rebound against the Dragons of West Davidson. North Rowan has scored 248 points while giving up 159 points. Sophomore quarterback Jeremiah Alford will be looking for his favorite receiver Amari McArthur, who was all-conference last year. The running back room is led by senior Khalil Davis, juniors Jae'mias Morrow, and Kh'Ron Miller. The Cavaliers have a few players that play both sides of the ball in Amari McArthur, Khalil Davis, Jae'mias Morrow, Kh'Ron Miller. Bryson Crisco, who was all-conference last year will be the main stay at linebacker.

West Davidson has scored 71 points and given up 258 points in 7 games. Quarterback Caleb Broom has thrown for 280 yards with 3 interceptions. Their run game is led by Joesph Baker. Baker has rushed for 362 yards. Broom's receiving core is led by senior Noah Baker and junior Brady Lester. The Dragons hope to end a 3-game losing streak.

Don's prediction: North Rowan 38, West Davidson 20


In the Central Piedmont 4A: Davie County (2-5; 1-3) at West Forsyth (2-5, 2-2)

Davie has scored 194 points and given up 244 points in their 7 games The War Eagles return a majority of their defense which was very young last year. At home against Mount Tabor, the War Eagles battled the Spartans tooth and nail before losing 34-25. Junior quarterback Ty Miller has been lights out throwing the ball having thrown for 1,255 yards with 15 touchdowns. Junior running back Markel Summers and Miller lead the team on the ground. Summers is a versatile player as him and Brodie Smith lead the team in receptions.

West Forsyth has scored 178 points and has given up 200 points. The Titans are looking to get back to winning ways after a hard battle to Reagan. Offensively, the Titans are led by quarterback Bert Rice, running back Marcus Wilson, and Caleb Davis. Senior wide receiver Kian Bailey and junior. Jordan Stephens will be the top receivers. Senior Ethan Krebs, junior Desmond Jackson and sophomore Jalen Morris will be counted on to anchor the offensive line. Senior defensive linemen Kaleb Benson and JD LeGrant, and junior linebackers Caleb David and Davion Eldridge anchor the defense.

Don's prediction: Davie 34, West Forsyth 28


In the Greater Metro 4A: Cox Mill (6-2; 3-1) at Lake Norman (6-1; 2-1)

Cox Mill has scored 274 points and given up 185 points.Coming off an open date, the Chargers travel to Lake Norman in a crucial Great Metro 4A battle. Senior quarterback Dymere Edwards has thrown for 874 yards with 12 touchdowns and only 3 interceptions in 4 games. Senior running back Tyrell Coard carries the "rock" as the leading rusher by rushing for 221 yards. Senior Kendall Harris is the leading receiver for the Chargers.

Lake Norman has scored 242 points and given up 99 points. After losing to Hickory Ridge, the Wildcats look to rebound against a very tough Cox Mill at home. The Wildcats return 14 starters with 8 on offense and 6 on defense from a group that went 8-4 and lost in the second round in 2021.Senior quarterback Jack Garlick has 8 touchdown passes with only 1 interception. His favorite receiver is Cameron Neal. Running back Trae Sechrest is the leading rusher. The offensive line has senior Liam Courtney, who was all-county last season, returning to anchor the line. Defensively, the Wildcats are led by Jack Baker, Heath Hamrick, Ethan Cameron, and Jacob Wright.

Don's prediction: Cox Mill 38, Lake Norman 27
