The 2nd Annual NCPreps.com Elite Guard Camp featured several of the state's top up-and-coming underclassmen and unsigned senior hoops players. Here are the award winners from the camp.
2019 Myles Pierre, a 6'2 guard from Carmel Christian School won the MVP of the 2017 NCPreps.com Elite Guard Camp. Pierre scored 19 points in the Underclassmen All-Star gain to garner the honors. "Myles Pierre was a fierce competitor and played hard on every play. He could get to the rim at any time and finish," said Deana King of NCPreps.com.
2019 Donavon Greene, 6'4 guard from Mount Airy High School won the Top Defender Award of the 2017 NCPreps.com Elite Guard Camp. "Donavon Greene is going to be special at what ever he decides to do. He is a freakish athlete that excels on the football field as well. He uses his quickness and outstanding jumping ability for rebounds and blocks. Donavon had one of the best blocks in the camp during the All-Star game," said Deana King of NCPreps.com.
2018 Daivien Williamson, a 6'1 guard from Winston-Salem Prep Academy won the Top Passer Award of the 2017 NCPreps.com Elite Guard Camp. "Daivien distributed the ball and found open teammates all during the camp. He comes from a great program that stresses team-play and unselfishness," said Deana King of NCPreps.com.
2017 Jaylen McGill, a 6'3 guard from Olympic High School won the Top Unsigned Senior MVP of the 2017 NCPreps.com Elite Guard Camp. McGill scored 12 points in leading the Green Team to a 68-64 win in the Unsigned Senior Game. "Jaylen is a hard worker and fierce competitor. He can do it all for a guard...shoot, pass, penetrate, and play defense," said Deana King of NCPreps.com.
2017 Quay Kimble, a 5'10 guard from Shelby High School won the Top Unsigned Senior Award for the White Team of the 2017 NCPreps.com Elite Guard Camp. Kimble scored a game-high 15 points including 2 3-pointers. "Quay is a great shooter and has plenty of range on his shots. He is very quick and can deliver the rock to his teammates as well," said Deana King of NCPreps.com.
