NCPreps.com Spotlight: Dewan Lesesne

Most left-handed guards have a reputation of having an unpredictable, yet efficient game. Clinton High School (NC) senior shooting guard Dewan Lesesne is a long, athletic combo guard with a seasoned skill set.

The 6’2, 173-pounder from Clinton, NC is a two-way player that can finish around the rim as well as push the ball in transition. Lesesne says he models his game after his father, who inspired his work ethic.

“I model my game after my dad because my whole life I’ve had my game compared to his. He has always stayed on me about working hard because he wants me to be better than him,” Lesesne explained.

The physical stature and IQ for the game is evident when it comes to Lesesne. However, what may go unnoticed to most is his ability to defend. He averaged an impressive 3.4 steals per game. Lesesne's awareness on both ends of the floor helped his team earn a spot in the NCHSAA 2A East Regional Finals in Minges Coliseum.

The Dark Horses came up short against Greene Central Rams, but the senior captain knows that he can look back at this season and hold his head high.
