Dudley (NC) Class of 2019 linebacker Jurriente Davis wants to play at the next level. The 6-0 205 pounder is starting to gain interest from some of the local programs. He was one of the reasons that the Panthers garnished a 10-3 record in 2018 with his stellar play on the defensive side of the ball.

NCPreps.com caught up with Davis on Monday to get an update on his recruiting.


How did your season go?

"My season went good. I didn't have any injuries and my best game was against Parkland where I had 19 tackles."

What were your stats this past year?

"I finished my junior season with 128 total tackles, 88 solos, 7 sacks, and 11 tackles for loss."

What honors or awards did you receive?

"I received Defensive MVP and All-Conference."

What are your strengths on the field?

"My strengths is my awareness and I'm good at shedding blocks."

What other sports do you participate in?

"I'm starting to run outdoor track (sprint)."

What schools have shown interest in you?

"NC State and Virginia are showing the most. ECU and North Carolina A&T are also showing some interest."

What player do you model your play after and why?

"My role model is Cam Chancellor because he is very physical and a headhunter on the field."

What are you plans for the off-season?

"My plans for the off-season is to workout every day even if it's just doing a push-up workout work and running track."

What are your goals for 2018?

"My goals are to be a better leader and get my IQ better for the game."

You recently visited Georgia Tech. How was that trip?

"The Georgia Tech visit was a cool experience. I saw all the former players' jerseys that came from there that went to the league. I got a few coaches's numbers as well. It was a good visit."
