John Holmes High School located in Edenton (NC) is home to a very special high school football player in Keimon Bailey. Bailey, a Class of 2018 running back has produced big-time numbers for the Aces in his career. Last year, he ran for over 2,800 yards with 36 touchdowns in helping the Aces play for a 2A NCHSAA state title where they lost to Reidsville 58-12.
This season, Bailey a 5’6, 180-pounder has again put up good numbers in leading his team to the 1AA state playoffs. Even though most Division 1 scouts view his size as not “prototypical” for a running back, his heart and work ethic is huge. Some college is going to get a gem with Bailey because his numbers have spoken for him. Holmes (10-1) has a great chance for another deep playoff run behind the playmaking of Bailey.
NCPreps.com caught up with Bailey to see how his season was going from his perspective.
