North Duplin (NC) Class of 2018 QB William Archer is a big reason the Rebels are off to a 7-0 start in the 2017 high school football season. Archer, a 6’2 192-pounder plays linebacker and punter as well. He excels in the classroom as well with 1090 SAT and 4.52 GPA.

NCPreps.com caught up with Archer to find out a little bit more about him.

How is your season going?

“Our season is going well. We have started off 7-0 and are ranked 9th in the state for 1A teams.”

What are your season stats?

“We run the triple option and it has been very effective as a team. My stats for this year are 81 yards passing on 4 completions and 102 carries for 883 rushing yards. On defense, I have 16 tackles and as a punter, my average is 38.3 yards per punt. ”

What are your career stats?

“For my varsity career, I have thrown for 628 yards on 30 completions, ran for 2,306 yards, and accumulated 2,594 all-purpose yards. I have made 86 tackles, 10 sacks and punted for a 36.6 average.”

What are your strengths on the football field?

“I feel as if my strengths on the football field are leadership and being a hard runner. I’m someone you can turn to when you need yards or a tackle. I also am versatile as a three-way player.”

Even though you don’t have any recruiting interest yet, what schools are you interested in?

“I really feel I would be a good fit at a small Division 1 school such as Davidson, Elon, Campbell, Western Carolina, or Wofford, but I am open to any school that would allow me to continue to play.”.

What other sports do you play?

“I also play basketball and golf.”

What are your thoughts on your team this season?

“I feel like my team is successful, not only on the field but as a brotherhood. We have gone out in the community and served which is what I am most proud of. We tutor at the elementary school and I coach the local 8U football team. It is who we are off the field that I feel makes us so successful on it.”
