NCPreps Hoops Intro: Treymane Parker

Kwe Parker is a name basketball, and Youtube, fans around the country vividly remember. They highflying Parker took the highlight world over as he signed with Tennessee out of Wesleyan Christian in the 2016 class.

Next up, we want to introduce you to Kwe’s brother Treymane. Now, this will be the last time we mention Treymane as Kwe’s little brother as he is his own man, and his own prospect. However, for the context of the introduction, we wanted to provide it.

“It is cool having my brother who has been through the process. He really just tells me to keep working on my game and continue to get better in everything.”

Treymane Parker is a sophomore guard at New Life Christian Academy in Fayetteville, North Carolina. New Life Head Coach Aaron Parker is thrilled with what the guard has brought to his team.

“Treymane brings extra energy to the team. His leadership has been a plus for our squad as well as his ability to not only score at a high rate, but his willingness to be a facilitator for everyone.”

As a freshman at Cape Fear High School last year, Parker averaged 16.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 3 steals per game.

“I am a combo guard, I can get to the rack a lot and finish it. I move well off the ball and can shoot it from three. I attack the basket.”

With the early success Parker found last year, he did pick up an early offer, even though college coaches are not able to contact Parker directly yet.

“I got an early offer from NC A&T, it is my only one right now."

In His Words

NC A&T: “I am still finding out more about them, but I know they have a good organization, and the basketball team is doing well right now.”

Work to be Done

Despite Parker’s early success, he understands there is still work to be done.

“I have been working hard on my jump shot, getting that down, being able to shoot the ball whether I have the ball in my hands or I am playing the two guard. I have really been working on my strength, both lower and upper body.” Parker continued, “I decided to come to New Life because I knew I needed to play. I wanted to get more looks and be able to get into the gym more, work on my game.”

Rivals Reaction

Treymane Parker is one of the most exciting players in the state of North Carolina, regardless of class. He has the high flying exploits you would expect with his name, but he also has a high basketball IQ and an understanding of the game. Parker’s shooting range extends well beyond the three-point line and he is able to toggle comfortably between the point and the two. Defensively he has quick hands and feet to go along with great anticipation in the passing lanes and surprising timing as a shot blocker at his position. Parker plays with a motor and has great court vision and awareness with a competitive streak. He is undoubtedly one of the top players in his class
