You ask any college coach, during any off season, what they are looking for and ten times out of ten the answer is going to be shooting. It is the skill that is at a premium at all levels of advanced basketball.
Noah Ross saw his reputation as a shooter explode this summer, when he picked up offers from Eastern Kentucky, Charlotte, Elon, Rice, Ohio, Hofstra and Florida International.
“I hold offers from EKU, Hofstra, FIU, Elon, Rice, Charlotte and Ohio. I am looking for a fun environment, but with quality people (the coaches and players) who will push me to be better, on and off the court.”
With those offers claimed there is a list of other schools he is hearing from, and he has a loose timeline of when he would like to be committed by.
“I hear from Xavier, UNC Greensboro, UNC Wilmington, Virginia Tech, Missouri, Appalachia, St, Tulsa, Belmont and Maryland. And I am not sure exactly when or how, but I would like to be committed before my senior season.”
Ross has positional size, he is starting to showcase some straight-line bounce, he is known as a shot maker, watching him play in his game on Thursday night, Ross finished with 30 points and 14 rebounds in the win. There is a lot to like.
“I am a long shooter who is starting to get to the rim. I can use my length and athleticism to defend as well.”
While Ross’ recruitment is one that is still young, it seems to be shaping up and taking direction. It will be interesting to watch and see where things go as his name is becoming a known commodity.
