How has your recruitment gone overall in your eyes?
Great, I've had an opportunity to visit a couple schools and coaches. It's been what I've expected and much more.
What offers do you currently hold from schools?
No offers but a few schools have asked that I not commit until they have had a chance to meet with me. So I am expecting some throughout this upcoming summer.
Which schools are showing you the most interest?
Virginia Tech, Princeton, Akron, Vanderbilt, Charlotte, Stanford, Lehigh, Harvard, Richmond
Have you planned any visits in the future?
Princeton 6/27/14, Vanderbilt 6/12/14, Stanford 6/17/14 Virginia Tech 4/18/14 and 4/26/14
Could you describe some of the schools you have been to and your thoughts on them?
The coaching staff at Virginia Tech was very welcoming; and through tours and spring workouts/games I've attended, I could tell the passion the coaches and community has for their team.
I also had the opportunity to meet privately with Coach Beamer. He graciously took time out of his day to speak to my family and I, really pulling me toward the family in Blacksburg. Princeton coach Surace is intense, their practices are efficient, and several of the players welcomed me and made me feel part of the program already.
Football wise, what are you looking for in a school?
A school that promotes competition and rewards the hardest working players with playing time. Also, a program that I can make an immediate impact whether it be by practicing on the scout team or playing time.
What have you been working on during the off season?
Speed and weight training.
What are your strengths & weakness on the field?
Ball skills, the ability to watch in traffic and making tough catches, intermediate and down field, gaining yards after the catch.
What do you think you could provide on the field to a collage team looking at you?
Consistency and productivity are the biggest. Being the son of a football coach, the importance of practicing hard every day was instilled in me at a young age.
Any goals you would like to achieve before you graduate high school?
All-state honors in football, all conference and all-state honors in track. Also, a football state championship!
How did this past season go in your own opinion for both yourself and for your team?
I believe this past season was very successful for our team. It was a building year for us in that we were pretty young, but with a record of 8-2 I can't complain. Next year we'll be more experienced, also faster and stronger.
