Scott gets UNC offer

One of the most fertile recruiting grounds in North Carolina for football is located in Cleveland County, a county around 40 miles west of Charlotte. Some of the best football programs in the state also call Cleveland County home. One of those programs, Shelby High is gunning for their 5th straight NCHSAA title and one of the main reason for the program's success is their defense.

The Golden Lions have two standout linebackers in 2018 All-American and 4-star Dax Hollifield and 2019 hitter Jaylon Scott. Hollifield has a who's who offer list while Scott is starting to make a name for himself. The sophomore has received 3 offers in the last few days including 2 in-state offers from NC State and North Carolina. Maryland offered Scott on Thursday.

In his sophomore season, Scott was impressive for the Golden Lions (16-0). The 6'2 220 lb standout made 51 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 5 sacks, and 3 interceptions.

NCPREPS caught up with Scott right after he received his UNC offer to get his thoughts.
