VTO Sports Wraps-up Combine Season at Greensboro NC Grimsley High School
Charlotte, NC (May 30, 2007) – On May 26, 2007 VTO Sports concluded its Combine Prep Season in Greensboro NC. Student-Athletes were tested in the 40 yard dash, Pro Agility Shuttle, Bench Press, Vertical Jump, 3 Cone Drill (L-Drill), and Broad Jump.

VTO Sports "TEACH-Test-TEACH-Test" system ensures that the student-athletes learn the proper TECHNIQUES for each drill. Student-Athletes are given a Nike SPARQ rating from four events (40, Shuttle, Bench, Vertical Jump).
Coming off the highly successful VTO Sports Elite 100 Showcase student-athletes from all over the Carolinas attended this final Combine to learn the drills and post times that will enable College Recruiters to evaluate their talent.
"This event is really great for these kids. It is organized and really gives them a chance to see were they are. We're going invite VTO Sports back to do this again" said Head Football Coach Shupin, Grimsley HS"
VTO Sports also spent time with parents and athletes discussing the importance of academics, Combine numbers and film. They gave each parent a binder that included the NCAA eligibility requirements, recruiting process (official/unofficial visits, communication, offers, etc.) and also stressed the importance of high-quality film needed by college coaches to truly evaluate the athlete.
During the session, VTO Sports witnessed some outstanding performances and met some athletes that will be heard from during the recruiting season. VTO Sports gave trophies to its Top Performers in every event.
The following student-athletes made the VTO Sport's All Combine Team:
RB prospect Jamal Shuman, 71st High School
This 5'8 167lb RB is an incredible athlete. A quiet young man, he releases fury as he attacked each drill. His eye popping 4.31 forty yard dash was the best of the day. Jamal also took home the days best Pro Agility Shuttle at 4.2 seconds. He had some other very impressive numbers with a 36.2 vertical jump, 21 bench reps @ 185lbs, and a 7.3 L drill. The future looks bright for this young man.
LB prospect Arron Culler, Mount Airy High School
The 5"10 185lb young man is a really overall good athlete. Showing real Core Strength Arron jumped an impressive 9'7 Broad Jump which was the best of the day. Arron has attended a few VTO Sports Combines and continues to improve on his technique.
DB prospect Carltrell Leggett, 71st High School
This 5'9 162lb young man is a solid overall athlete. His quickness and speed showed itself to be evident with the day's best 7.37 in the L-Drill. Carltrell's numbers were all outstanding. 4.4 forty yard dash, 4.50 pro agility shuttle, 21 bench reps @ 185lbs, and a 9 foot broad jump.
RB/DB prospect Michael Dobson, Mount Airy High School
This DB/RB excelled in all of the drills jumping a days best 36.1 in the Vertical Jump. Michael raised his game in just about every drill. This multipurpose athlete will be a true asset this year to his team. Michael's additional numbers, 4.38 forty yard dash, 19 bench reps @ 185lbs, and 9.4 feet broad jump.
S Prospect Dequay Thigpen, Page High School
This prototype 5'10 202lb Safety has strength, speed, and quickness. His impressive 24 reps @ 185lbs on the bench show his great strength and stamina that will serve him well in the 4th quarter of his senior season. Other numbers put in by Thigpen. 33.2 vertical, 4.65 forty yard dash, 9.1 broad jump, and 4.65 pro agility shuttle.
