Here are some players to keep an eye on during Sunday's events. These players had outstanding junior seasons on the gridiron.
Matt Stevens is a linebacker from talent-rich Hough High School in Charlotte. Stevens has had several Division 1 schools show interest in him, but he hasn't got the first offer yet. Stevens has an older brother that plays football at NC State.
Coleton Brooks is a multi-purpose running back from 2AA state champion East Lincoln High School. Brooks totaled over 1,200 total yards with 10 touchdowns in the Mustang's high powered offense. With the majority of the skill players returning for the Mustangs next fall, look for Brooks numbers to be even higher.
Joey Bernardini is a 5'10 185 running back from the Community of Davidson School. Bernardini was one of North Carolina's leading rushers from 2014 as he ran for over 2,100 yards with 29 touchdowns.
Alex Purviance is a linebacker from 4A Reagan High School. The Raiders are coming off the best year in football in the school's history. Purviance is one reason for the success as he was the leader on the defensive side of the ball in making 134 tackles last year.
Chad Dance is an athlete from 1A power Plymouth High School. Dance has been a vital part of the Vikings success on the gridiron as he rushed for over 1,000 yards last year. Like in most 1A schools he is a versatile player who can play running back and defensive back.
