Kammien Mitchell 5’11 PG Senior 2019 - Very quick and in your face defender. Will be an excellent back up to any guard position.

Axel Holm 6’0 PG Freshman 2020 - High IQ guard who can shoot the ball. Will fit in nicely with our team and will provide solid backup for Kody at the PG. Helped guide our middle school program to a 34-0 record during his two years.

Interest: NC Wesleyan

Dimitri McCall 6’4 F Freshman 2020 - Tons of athletic ability. Helped guide our middle school program to a 34-0 record during his two years. Could be a very special player. Will see a lot of minutes.

Bryce Wilson 6’0 Senior G 2017 - Fourth year in our varsity program. Will see a lot of minutes. Had a solid summer and spring so far. Another guy who can do a lot of things on the court.

Kendrick Davis 6’0 Junior G 2018 - A basketball player. Very high IQ and always makes the right play. Makes it difficult to take off court when he is out there. Plays hard and smart. Another great addition to our team.

STRENGTHS/WEAKNESSES OF YOUR TEAM

Strengths: A strength of team is we are bringing back our core players. We have 4 starters back and have 6 of top 8 players back from last season. We are going to be a little deeper than last season and will be able to rotate players in and out more often. Kody Shubert is a special player and he is surrounded by special players as well. Sophomores Jackson Gabriel and Levontae Knox have both picked up some DI interest over the summer and spring. Junior Jehlon Johnson has gotten stronger and worked really hard at being a dominate big man. We can shoot the ball and all of the guys can put in on the floor and attack. Teams can’t focus on stopping just one or two players.

Weaknesses: Obviously expectations can overwhelm teams. We know what expectations will be this year but we have to continue to stay focused. We have some guys that are stepping into new roles this season so you never know how they will be. They could be great or they could not live up to what is expected. Our nonconference schedule is the toughest it's been since I’ve been here. We are playing in 2 Phenom National Showcase Tournaments. One being at Cox Mill during Thanksgiving. We will be playing Northwood Temple who features a team of nationally recruited stars and Piedmont High who features the talented Hunter Tyson. We are also playing in the Joe Miller Invitational Christmas Tournament which features some of the top teams in the nation. We are also hosting a very talented and athletic Ashbrook High and Uwharrie Charter. So, we made have some setbacks at the beginning but I think we will be okay in the long run.

We lost Trey Johnson 6’3 G 2018. His father is a minister and was transferred to another church in Greensboro. Trey was a do everything guy. You don’t replace guys like Trey you just hope others can fill his spot by committee.

NOTES OF INTEREST (COACH OR TEAM)

Kody Shubert has 6 D1 offers. Great kid with a 4.3 GPA. Very humble and nice young man

Axel Holms mother played for the Washington Mystic and his dad was an assistant for the Sweden National team. Has a pedigree of basketball in family.

We have potentially 3 guys that could reach 1000 points this season. Jehlon Johnson (starter since freshman year), Jackson Gabriel and Lavontae Knox (Both started as freshman).
