In terms of recruiting, the "ATH" position may be the most intriguing classification of all the positions. A consummate ATH prospect brings a large amount of versatility and playmaking ability to their team. Western Alamance (NC) ATH Jake Christman epitomizes this electrifying role as the leader for the Warriors.
Christman may lack the amount of exposure others in this talented 2018 class have received, however, it is not due to talent! The 5'11 188-pound athlete from Elon, NC pulverized opposing competition his senior year while leading his team to a 14-1 record. Jake Christman is a "do-it-all" type of player that displays pure athleticism regardless of his place on the field. He has lined up at virtually every position on offense excluding offensive line. On the defensive side, Christman excelled at the safety position while handling the return duties.
Christman's film is quite intriguing; his silky-smooth cuts and elusive hesitation moves demand your attention throughout the duration of the tape. Despite his 188-pound frame, he plows through potential tacklers while keeping a low center of gravity and great balance. Jake Christman is undoubtingly an offensive player at the next level, however he can contribute in the passing game as well as on the ground. Jake has handled his responsibilities on the field as well as in the classroom. He boasts a 4.375 GPA and student will graduate at the top of his class this upcoming May.
I always love to rout for the "sleeper prospect" deserving of national exposure. Jake Christman fits that mold to the final qualification. Players such as Jake Christman always land in the right program in the right situation. Christman has FBS level talent and I envision a program pulling the trigger on him late in the recruiting process. Whatever program that decides to take a chance on Jake Christman will definitely receive a great two-way player. A great athlete on the field, and an exceptional student off of it.
