VTO Sports All-American Challenge Standout: Justice Hopkins

VTO Sports had their sixth annual All-American Challenge at West Cabarrus High School in Concord, NC, on the weekend of July 7-9. Over 190 student-athletes attended from all over the country.

The coaching staff selected top performers in each position group with the top two players earning VTO Sports All-American honors.

Class of 2026 Justice Hopkins was selected as a VTO Sports All-American at the defensive line position. The 5-foot-11, 225-pounder from Byrnes High School in Duncan, SC, spoke to NCPreps.com about the event and his upcoming season.

NCPreps: What was your thoughts on the event?

HOPKINS: "It was a great experience. It was a fun event getting tp work against offensive linemen from across the nation to judge my skill level and to see what I need to work on."

NCPreps: What were the best parts of the event and why?

HOPKINS: "I'm a big fan of 1v1s at every camp, but the team obstacle courses, and team jerseys was real fun and competitive."

NCPreps: How did you feel that you did and what are some things you need to work on?

HOPKINS: "I think I did great. I set a goal to go in have fun and dominate at the camp and I achieve those goals. But most definitely I need to work on my hip tightness, strength, and adding more pass rush moves to my game."

NCPreps: What are your goals for the upcoming season?

HOPKINS: "My team goals are to help my team win the 5A State Championship. Individually going into my sophomore year, I would like to be all region on both sides of the ball, and to have a healthy and super productive year to open some eyes up to the football world."

NCPreps: Have you went to college camps and are there any colleges reaching out to you?

HOPKINS: So far, I've been to Clemson, South Carolina, Anderson, Charlotte and will attend Appalachian State, Wake Forest, South Carolina State, and Coastal Carolina before the season starts. Currently, I'm flying under the radar. This is my first year full time on varsity. I played varsity and JV a couple of games, and four games on C Team."

NCPreps: What are you looking for in a program?

HOPKINS: "A home, family, free education, fits, coaches, and teammates to push me to the next level God willing. Somewhere to utilize my strengths and fix my weaknesses either at DE or TE."

NCPreps: Would you advise other prospects to attend VTO camps?

HOPKINS: "Most definitely. It was competitive and a fun experience."
