VTO Sports Weekly Top Performers for Week 3

NCPreps.com is pleased to announce VTO Sports will be sponsoring the top weekly performers from each region of the state each week.

Here are the top performers for Week 3:

WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA

Ricky Tolbert, Sophomore, QB, Asheville School

Tolbert completed 21 of 31 passes for 252 yards with 3 touchdowns and ran 17 times for 108 yards with 4 touchdowns in the Blues' 51-33 win over Asheville Christian.


WESTERN FOOTILLS

Ny’tavious Huskey, Júnior, QB, Crest High School

Huskey completed 21 passes for 436 yards with 7 touchdowns and ran 15 times for 93 yards with a score in the Chargers' 54-49 win over Shelby.


CHARLOTTE METRO

Luke Bailey, Senior, RB, Providence High School

Bailey ran 36 times for 429 yards with 9 touchdowns in the Panthers' 64-42 win over Parkwood.

Note: Bailey tied a NCHSAA state record with 9 touchdowns in a game.


PIEDMONT TRIAD

Payton Wright, Junior, LB, Eastern Alamance High School

Wright made 18 tackles including 14 solos, 2 tackles for loss, and 2 quarterback hurries in the Eagles' 41-35 win over Northern Guilford.


CAPITAL

Jonathan Montague, Junior, QB, Knightdale High School

Montague completed 9 of 10 passes for 218 yards with 2 touchdowns in the Knights' 47-14 win over Purnell Swett.


SANDHILLS

Cole Wilson, Senior, QB, Cape Fear High School

Wilson completed 16 of 24 passes for 331 yards with 3 touchdowns and ran 10 times for 53 yards in the Colts' 39-28 win over Terry Sanford.

Note: Wilson was honored as a VTO Sports All-American QB this spring


EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA

K.J. Sampson, Senior, DT. New Bern High School

Sampson had 7 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, and 5 quarterback hurries in the Bears' 53-0 win over West Craven.

Note: Sampson is currently committed to Florida State.


COASTAL

Jameson Prince, Junior, QB, South Brunswick High School

Prince completed 19 of 26 passes for 285 yards with 4 touchdowns and ran for 2 scores in the Cougars' 62-0 win over West Bladen.
