In the South Piedmont 3A and Greater Metro 4A: Northwest Cabarrus at West Cabarrus
NWC will be favored in this game even though they are a 3A school playing away. The schools are only a few miles apart. West Cabarrus in only their 3rd year playing will be hungry to upset the Trojans.

In the South Piedmont 3A and Yadkin Valley 1A/2A: Central Cabarrus at Mount Pleasant
Up and coming 3A Central Cabarrus will be playing at 2A powerhouse Mount Pleasant. Mount Pleasant Head Football Coach Mike Johns has retired, and Danny Crosby has taken over the Tigers.

In the South Piedmont 3A/Central Carolina 1A/2A: West Rowan at Salisbury
3A West Rowan will be playing at 2A Salisbury on opening night. Salisbury will be playing without Georgia recruit Jalon Walker but will have Central Carolina Offensive POY QB Mike Geter back. West Rowan will be very good running and passing attack behind QB Luke Graham.

In the Central Piedmont 4A: West Forsyth at AC Reynolds
The Titans travel to AC Reynolds with a win last year at home 37-7. AC Reynolds looks to change that as the Rockets have a stellar defense led by Dashawn Stone and Asher Cunningham. West Forsyth is coming off a 6-5 season and will be anxious to start the season of with a win.
